Tobacco Brown is a unique marble from Canada. The quarry is on a flat ground (unlike the usual quarries which are on mountains). The quarry is only about 1.5 meters deep from the ground level. Beyond that, it turns to mud and will no longer be useful. For this reason vein cut blocks are usually short on the height because when we cut blocks in the vein direction we are covering the deep end of the block (vertical side of the quarry), while cross cut block are large because we are facing the flat/wide face, ground level (horizontal side of the quarry).
The material became famous after being specified for the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa Dubai (the tallest building in the world).
